Hello everyone,

Today I share with you, the recipe for this Algerian cake without cooking, known as the candles (Algerian cakes) that one of my readers Souhila, liked to share with us, using the system that I put you on line:

it’s very simple to use this system, don’t worry how the recipe will be in the end, because, I personally arrange it, before it is online.

So we come back to the recipe for these almond candles? a cake without baking, with a few ingredients and in less than 2 hours your cake is ready to serve…

Souhila at love of cooking

Preparation time 1 h

Total time 1 h

  • Ingredients:
  • 500 g ground almonds
  • 4 5 tbsp orange jam for me you can put other
  • a sachet of vanilla

for garnish

  • a little food coloring of your choice
  • 200 g white chocolate
  • a few stems of cherries
  • In a container, mix the almond and the vanilla

  • collect with the jam until you have a manageable dough that is easy to work with.

  • form a long sausage,

  • cut small sticks then form small candles and leave to dry for an hour in a cool place.

  • after drying, melt chocolate, put a few drops of dye and dip the candles in chocolate.

  • let drain on a wire rack.

  • after a few minutes of drying, pour a little more melted chocolate on each candle to give the melted candle effect

  • stick in each candle a stem of cherry that will look like a wick

  • good luck
