Hello everyone,

And here is my favorite recipe. Indian cuisine tandoori chicken! At home, we are big chicken lovers, more so than red meat. My children only eat the meat minced, or in meatballs with sauce or in a burger.

My children’s first experiences with tandoori chicken were not to my taste, this recipe that me and their father loved very much, was not to please them, or I would rather say the red color did not appeal to them too much.

Of course it’s not always that I get a tandoori chicken as red as this, it will of course depend on the tandoori powder you use. Personally, the tandoori spice mix that I used was prepared by my neighbor, all fresh, all flavored to burn your nostrils if you take a good shot.

My neighbor always prepares these spices freshly when she wants to make these dishes with them. I tried to find out the composition of her spice, but the poor girl spoke very badly in English, one ingredient in English, another in Bengali, so I never got the right recipe, even if she showed me each spice, there were some that I knew, but others for me were just seeds that I’ve never seen, or some weird roots.

Whatever she put in the powder, the taste was sublime, and the result obtained, I won’t tell you, better than what is sold in Indian restaurants.

Of course I didn’t just have the spices from my neighbour, I also had the recipe which is a real delight, and not only that one, I learned with her the chicken curry, a spinach dhal and especially the mango lassi.

So this tandoori chicken can go with everything, a good rice pilaf, fries or just a fresh salad.

  • of the chicken thighs
  • 6 vs. soup natural yogurt depending on the quantity of chicken
  • 3 seed pods garlic
  • 1 cm fresh ginger
  • Salt
  • 3 vs. soup tandoori powder well filled
  • juice of a lemon.
  • Remove the skin from the chicken

  • Cut all over the chicken pieces, so that they absorb the marinade well.

  • Mix all the yogurts and spices in a large bowl.

  • add the yogurt.

  • add crushed garlic and ginger.

  • Marinate the chicken pieces in this spice mix.

  • Let absorb overnight or half a day

  • When grilling, sprinkle ghee (smen) all over

  • Repeat the operation as soon as they come out of the oven to give them a little shine.
